Hi there! I am a PhD Candidate in Computing Science at the University of Alberta and a Visiting Research Assistant at the University of Victoria. My research lies at the intersection of affect, lifelong learning, and subjective well-being, with a core passion for developing systems that enrich user experiences.

My doctoral work investigates how emotions and cognitive demands interact in independent digital learning environments (e.g., games, simulators, AI-based pedagogical tools). I employ multimodal analytics, combining attitudinal measures (affect, well-being) with behavioral data (interaction logs, eye tracking, physiology), to inform user-centered adaptations that enhance experiences and performance.

Across interdisciplinary contexts (language literacy, computer science and healthcare training), I have worked with diverse populations ranging from children to professionals. At the University of Victoria, I am developing and evaluating AI-supported tools to promote the mental well-being of knowledge workers. My earlier master’s research focused on designing extended-reality communication systems that foster a sense of companionship in remote collaboration.

I am actively looking for a research position.
